We're delighted to announce that Arolla's own Andreas Tautscher and Board Evaluation Consultant Clare Chalmers, are panellists at PwC Channel Island' Non-Executive Director technical update workshop in Guernsey on Tuesday 16 January 2024.

Held at the Old Government House Hotel in St Peter Port, the event will inform Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) looking to keep up-to-date on the latest hot topics in corporate reporting before the 2023/ 2024 financial reporting season kicks off, and includes focused, tailored sessions held by subject matter experts from PwC UK. It's also an excellent opportunity to network and collaborate with other members of the NED community and will include a panel discussion on corporate governance and board effectiveness.

PwC UK's Corporate Governance specialist, John Patterson, will be joined by panel guests Clare, Andreas and Wendy Dorey who will share their views and insights; discussing the current Corporate Governance landscape, emerging themes, future developments and the challenges faced by Boards in the current environment, with the overview of technical accounting developments led by PwC UK’s technical director Arran Jones.

Overview agenda
This session will examine the implications of the most significant recent developments in governance, corporate reporting and technical accounting, including in relation to ESG and climate change, as well as other topics relevant to the audit committee agenda:
1. Inflation and uncertainty - impact on financial reporting.
2. Update on the latest IFRS developments.
3. FRC and FCA developments and areas of focus.
4. Feedback from the latest PwC reviews of FTSE 350 reporting.
5. Climate change reporting and wider ESG reporting developments.
6. Update on UK regulatory reform.

The update will be of particular interest to Audit Committee members as well as other NEDs wishing to further develop their understanding of accounting and corporate governance developments in the UK.
